Medicine information
Uses & overview
Nepafenac Eye Drops are a prescription ophthalmic medicine containing Nepafenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to help manage inflammation and pain associated with certain eye conditions and ophthalmic procedures. Nepafenac is commonly prescribed by ophthalmologists, particularly for managing inflammation and discomfort following cataract surgery. It works by reducing the formation of inflammatory substances that can contribute to eye pain, redness, and swelling.
How to use
Nepafenac Eye Drops should be used exactly as prescribed by your ophthalmologist or healthcare professional. The dose and duration may vary depending on your eye condition and whether the medicine is being used following an ophthalmic procedure. Wash your hands: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling the eye-drop bottle. Check the bottle: Confirm the medicine name, strength, expiry date, and product instructions before use. Shake if required: If the product label instructs you to shake the suspension, gently shake the bottle before applying the drops. Position yourself: Tilt your head backward and look upward. Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Apply the prescribed dose: Hold the bottle above the eye and instill the recommended number of drops into the affected eye. Avoid contamination: Do not allow the dropper tip to touch your eye, eyelashes, eyelids, fingers, or other surfaces. Close your eye gently: Close your eye for a short time after application. Avoid rubbing or squeezing the eye. Follow your schedule: Use Nepafenac at the prescribed times and complete the recommended treatment period unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Other eye medicines: If you use additional eye drops or ointments, ask your doctor or pharmacist how much time to leave between each medicine. Missed dose: If you miss a dose, use it when remembered unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not apply an extra dose to compensate.
