Medicine information
Uses & overview
TRIGLICLAGLAZE 80 by Steris Healthcare combines three proven anti-diabetic agents: Gliclazide SR (80 mg), Pioglitazone (15 mg), and Metformin Hydrochloride SR (500 mg). This powerful triple-action formulation targets three fundamental pathophysiological defects in type 2 diabetes—impairment of insulin secretion, peripheral insulin resistance, and excessive hepatic glucose production. Key Uses & Clinical Benefits: Triple-Action Glycemic Control: Delivers comprehensive coverage to lower both fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels, helping patients maintain consistent HbA1c targets. Stimulates Natural Insulin Release: Gliclazide (a second-generation sulfonylurea) acts on pancreatic beta cells to enhance insulin secretion. Overcomes Insulin Resistance: Pioglitazone directly improves insulin sensitivity in muscle and adipose tissue, enhancing peripheral glucose uptake. Reduces Glucose Production: Metformin decreases hepatic glucose synthesis and reduces intestinal glucose absorption. Sustained-Release Formula: The Sustained Release (SR) mechanism ensures controlled drug release throughout the day, minimizing sudden glycemic dips and reducing gastrointestinal side effects. How TRIGLICLAGLAZE 80 Works: Gliclazide SR (80 mg): Selectively binds to pancreatic beta-cell receptors to stimulate physiological insulin release. Pioglitazone (15 mg): Serves as a PPAR-gamma agonist, reducing insulin resistance in target tissues. Metformin SR (500 mg): Suppresses liver gluconeogenesis and optimizes cellular response to insulin.
How to use
Take 1 tablet of TRIGLICLAGLAZE 80 daily with food (preferably during breakfast or the main meal of the day) or as prescribed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as doing so disrupts the sustained-release properties of Gliclazide and Metformin.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light, heat, and moisture. Maintain at a controlled room temperature below 30°C. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
