Medicine information
Uses & overview
Etoricoxib 60 mg, Thiocolchicoside 4 mg combines two active ingredients that work differently to help manage pain associated with selected musculoskeletal conditions. Etoricoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor belonging to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) group. It helps reduce the production of substances involved in pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant used to help relieve painful muscle spasms. A healthcare professional may prescribe this combination when muscle spasms occur alongside pain and inflammation, such as in certain acute musculoskeletal conditions. The suitability of the combination depends on the diagnosis, the severity of symptoms, the patient's medical history, and the prescribing information for the specific product. It does not treat every cause of back pain, neck pain, or muscle stiffness, and it should not replace appropriate medical assessment. This combination requires careful use. Etoricoxib can increase blood pressure, cause fluid retention, affect kidney function, and increase cardiovascular risk in some patients. It may also cause stomach-related adverse effects, including ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding. Thiocolchicoside may cause diarrhoea, drowsiness, or other adverse effects. Systemic thiocolchicoside is subject to important restrictions in many jurisdictions because of potential reproductive and genetic safety concerns; it is intended only for short-term use in eligible patients according to applicable prescribing guidance. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, kidney or liver problems, a history of seizures, or possible pregnancy. Inform your healthcare professional about all medicines and supplements you take. Do not combine this medicine with other NSAIDs or muscle relaxants unless specifically advised.
How to use
Take Etoricoxib 60 mg, Thiocolchicoside 4 mg only when prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional. Stop taking the medicine and seek medical advice if you develop concerning side effects. Seek urgent care for chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe allergic symptoms, or signs of gastrointestinal bleeding.
