Medicine information
Uses & overview
Rosuvastatin, Clopidogrel & Aspirin is a prescription combination medicine used as part of cardiovascular treatment in selected patients. It combines a cholesterol-lowering medicine with two antiplatelet medicines to address different risk factors associated with certain heart and blood vessel conditions. Rosuvastatin belongs to the statin class and helps reduce LDL cholesterol by decreasing cholesterol production in the liver. Clopidogrel reduces platelet aggregation by blocking platelet activation, while Aspirin helps prevent platelets from clumping together. Together, Clopidogrel and Aspirin provide dual antiplatelet therapy, which may be recommended for specific patients following an acute coronary syndrome or certain heart procedures. The combination may help reduce the risk of certain cardiovascular events when prescribed for an appropriate indication. However, the suitability and duration of treatment depend on the patient's diagnosis, bleeding risk, cholesterol levels, medical history, and other medicines.
How to use
Follow the prescribed dose: Take the exact strength and dose recommended by your healthcare professional. The dose and duration depend on your cardiovascular condition and bleeding risk. Follow the recommended schedule: Take the medicine at the time advised by your doctor. Check the product leaflet for instructions regarding food and the specific formulation. Swallow the tablet correctly: Take the tablet with water. Do not crush, chew, or split it unless your pharmacist confirms that this is appropriate for your particular product. Manage missed doses carefully: If you miss a dose, follow the patient leaflet or contact your pharmacist. Do not take a double dose to compensate. Watch for bleeding: Clopidogrel and Aspirin increase bleeding risk. Seek urgent medical attention for uncontrolled bleeding, vomiting blood, black stools, or sudden severe headache. Inform your doctor about other medicines: Report anticoagulants, ibuprofen, naproxen, other aspirin products, supplements, and all prescription medicines because interactions may increase bleeding risk.
