Uses & overview
Budesonide Controlled Release 9 mg is a corticosteroid medicine that helps reduce inflammation in the digestive tract. Budesonide extended-release tablets are prescribed to induce remission in adults with active, mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, a condition that causes inflammation of the large intestine and may lead to symptoms such as diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, and rectal bleeding. The active ingredient, budesonide, works by reducing inflammatory activity. The extended-release formulation is designed to release the medicine over time, helping deliver the prescribed treatment according to its formulation. Patients searching for Budesonide 9 mg tablets, controlled-release budesonide, or ulcerative colitis medication should understand that different budesonide formulations may have different approved uses and administration instructions. This medicine is not suitable for everyone and should be used only under medical supervision. If you intend to purchase Budesonide Controlled Release 9 mg online, choose a reputable, licensed pharmacy and verify the product strength, formulation, packaging, and prescription requirements. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about possible side effects, drug interactions, and precautions, particularly if you have liver problems, an infection, or take other corticosteroids. Use Budesonide Controlled Release 9 mg exactly as prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your healthcare professional.
How to use
Follow the prescribed dose: For adults with active, mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, the labelled dose for budesonide extended-release 9 mg tablets is generally one tablet once daily in the morning for up to eight weeks. Your doctor will determine the appropriate treatment plan for you. Take it at the recommended time: The tablet can generally be taken with or without food, according to the product's instructions. Swallow the tablet whole: Take it with water. Do not chew, crush, or break the extended-release tablet, as this may interfere with its intended release characteristics. Avoid grapefruit juice: Grapefruit juice can affect how budesonide is processed in the body and should be avoided during treatment with this formulation. Tell your doctor about other medicines: Inform your healthcare professional about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements you use. Some medicines can increase budesonide exposure or the risk of side effects. Do not change treatment independently: Do not increase the dose, extend the treatment period, or discontinue treatment without medical advice. Monitor your health: Contact your doctor if symptoms worsen, you develop signs of infection, or you experience concerning side effects. Seek urgent medical assistance for severe allergic reactions.
