Medicine information
Uses & overview
Ambrisentan + Tadalafil 5 mg + 20 mg is a combination medicine used to manage pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious condition involving increased pressure in the blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs. PAH can cause breathlessness, tiredness, dizziness, and reduced ability to perform everyday physical activities. Ambrisentan belongs to a class of medicines called endothelin receptor antagonists. It blocks the effects of endothelin, a substance that narrows blood vessels. Tadalafil belongs to the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor class and helps relax blood vessels. Their combined action may improve blood flow through the lungs, increase exercise capacity, and help reduce the risk of PAH worsening in suitable patients. The benefits and appropriate dose depend on the individual's condition, treatment history, and response to therapy. Possible side effects include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dizziness, swelling of the legs, and low blood pressure. Specialist monitoring may include assessment of fluid retention, haemoglobin levels, liver function, and overall treatment response. If you are searching for Ambrisentan + Tadalafil 5 mg + 20 mg tablets online in India, compare verified product details, manufacturer information, pack size, and availability through a reputable pharmacy. Confirm the exact combination and strength before purchasing. This medicine requires specialist supervision and should not be started, stopped, or adjusted without medical guidance.
How to use
Follow the recommended dose: Take the medicine exactly as directed by your treating specialist. The correct dose and schedule depend on your condition, current treatment, and response to therapy. Take it consistently: If your treatment plan specifies once-daily use, take it at approximately the same time each day. Swallow the tablet properly: Take the tablet with water. Do not crush, split, or chew it unless the product instructions specifically permit this. Food and timing: Follow the product leaflet regarding food. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure about administration instructions for your particular combination. Missed dose: Follow the missed-dose instructions supplied with your medicine. Do not take two doses together to compensate for a missed dose. Attend monitoring appointments: Your specialist may monitor blood pressure, fluid retention, haemoglobin, liver function, and your response to treatment. Check medicine interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all medicines and supplements you use. Tadalafil must not be combined with nitrate medicines, such as nitroglycerin, because blood pressure can fall dangerously. Riociguat must also be avoided. Recognise warning signs: Seek urgent medical care for fainting, severe chest pain, sudden vision or hearing changes, or a prolonged erection. Do not change treatment yourself: Do not increase, reduce, or discontinue the medicine without medical guidance. Store it safely: Keep the tablets in their original packaging according to the manufacturer's storage instructions and away from children.
