Capecitime 500 Tablet is an anticancer medicine containing Capecitabine IP 500 mg. Capecitabine belongs to a class of medicines called antimetabolites and is converted in the body to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), which interferes with processes required for cancer-cell growth and division. Capecitime 500 may be prescribed alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines, depending on the type and stage of cancer and the treatment plan determined by the oncologist. Capecitabine is used in the treatment of certain breast, colorectal, gastric, esophageal, gastroesophageal junction, and pancreatic cancers. Treatment with Capecitabine requires careful medical supervision. The dose and treatment schedule may vary according to the patient's condition, body surface area, kidney function, response to treatment, and occurrence of side effects. Your doctor may adjust, interrupt, or discontinue treatment when necessary. Important safety considerations include serious reactions associated with complete DPD deficiency, diarrhea, dehydration, kidney toxicity, cardiotoxicity, severe skin reactions including hand-foot syndrome, and potential bleeding when used with vitamin K antagonist anticoagulants. Take Capecitime 500 exactly as prescribed by your oncologist. Capecitabine is generally taken orally twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart, and within 30 minutes after a meal. The exact dose, treatment cycle, and duration depend on the type of cancer and your doctor's treatment plan. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet unless specifically instructed by your healthcare professional. If you vomit after taking a dose, do not take an additional dose; follow your regular schedule and inform your doctor. If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to compensate . Do not change the dose or stop Capecitime 500 without consulting your doctor. Regular medical and laboratory monitoring may be required during treatment.

Store Capecitime 500 at room temperature, in its original container, tightly closed and protected from excessive heat and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use the tablets after the expiry date printed on the packaging. Dispose of unused medicine according to your pharmacist's or local medicine-disposal guidance.
